Below, we’ll list 8 epic camping spots to consider when you visit Halls Gap in the Grampians National Park. The campgrounds are managed by Parks Victoria, so should always check their website for any booking conditions or unexpected closures, which can happen.

Additionally, aside from Plantation Campground, dogs are not allowed at the below-listed campsites around Halls Gap. These camping sites also don’t provide rubbish or litter facilities, so it’s important to take anything you bring with you, back with you, and dispose of any rubbish in Halls Gap.

Many of the below camping sites have fire pits. But, you should remember to bring your own firewood, as it’s not permitted to forage for wood within the Grampians. Additionally, all sites are unpowered. So, they’re a great place to unplug for a night or two.

The majority of the camping sites listed in this guide around Halls Gap require prior booking with Parks Victoria. Parks Vic can also provide park maps and any general useful information with regard to your stay. In fact, it’s recommended to take your own water with you when camping at Boreang Campground, but you can easily pick this up from Halls Gap.

In fact, the convenient location of Plantation Campground makes it the perfect base for hiking at sunrise and sunset.

The basic yet more than adequate amenities include clean toilets and a water tap. Although, the water is non-drinkable, so bring your own for cooking and drinking. There are around 30 pitches for tents, campers and caravans. But, bear in mind, camping at Plantation Campground in Halls Gap is on a first come first served basis, and as one of the only free camping sites in Halls Gap, is a popular place to stay.

Bonus tip: Plantation Campground is the only campsite on this Camping Halls Gap list that is dog-friendly.
